2023 RLF Scholarship Application

ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP

The DFW SIM RLF 2023 Scholarship is one of many ways in which DFW SIM supports the ongoing growth and development of Technology Professionals today.

RLF is an impactful and highly-experiential “learning lab” fostering long term leadership development through six 2-day in-person sessions unfolding over eight months. The cross-fertilization of ideas, experiences and practices help participants pull from within themselves and each other to blossom in an environment of deep learning.

AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

The DFW SIM Chapter has three scholarships available for RLF 2023. They are:

• SIM Leadership Institute Scholarship – $2,000 value
• SIM DFW Full Program Scholarship (excluding travel / expenses) – $8,850 value

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Technology Professionals employed in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex that have been identified by a SIM member as high potential leaders are eligible and encouraged to apply.

• Recommendation letter from a Manager and / or Peer

Step one: Fill out the application form found on this page.
Step two: Upload Supporting documents with application.
Step three: Make sure that the application form and supporting documents / references are submitted by January 21, 2023.

APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS

The DFW SIM Scholarship Review Committee reviews completed scholarship applications, scoring them on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being highest) regarding three criteria:

1. Completed DFW SIM RLF Application
2. Letter of recommendation from a Manager or Peer
3. Review of appropriate experience to benefit significantly from RLF

The top 5 scoring applications are then reviewed against one additional criteria:

4. Philanthropic Involvement

The DFW SIM Scholarship Review Committee recommends the awarding of available scholarships to the DFW SIM Executive Committee in accordance with Applicant scores, from highest score to lowest score. In the event of a scoring tie, the DFW SIM Executive Committee will render a decision based on available information.

The DFW SIM Scholarship Review Committee is comprised of the following people:

• SIM DFW Vice Chair
• SIM DFW Professional Development Chair
• Members of the SIM DFW Professional Development Committee
• A Recent Texas RLF Graduate

DFW SIM SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE

The DFW SIM Scholarship Timeline is as follows:

• 12/15/2022 – Applications Open
• 1/21/2023 – Applications Due
• 1/28/2023 – Scholarship Award Recommendations made to DFW SIM Executive Committee
• 2/7/2023 – Scholarship Award Recommendations Reviewed and Finalized by DFW SIM Executive Committee
• 2/15/2023 – Scholarship payments made to RLF on behalf of participants in conjunction with their respective registrations and payments, taking advantage of $500 Early Bird discount extension offered to SIM DFW from RLF for SIM DFW scholarship seats
